U-haul blew it on a hitch we had ordered well in advance (it never showed up) and not a single soul at the dealer or at their main headquarters seemed to care one bit that our vacation was on the line. It was Friday afternoon and we had planned to leave for Vermont on Sunday, but after hours on the phone trying to get U-haul to deliver on their promise (of a Friday morning installation), I'd almost given up. I called Hitch-Web from cruising the web, got Tony on the line, and he actually became interested in seeing not only whether we could find the right hitch for my wagon, but also whether we could get it packaged, shipped, and delivered by the next morning! I was to have a hitch put on my 2004 Nssan Titan on 7/21/2005. When I visited the outdoor sports center on 7/20/2005 to make sure everything was all set I found that the owner had not even ordered the parts yet!!!!!!!! if this was'nt bad enough he told me it may take a week or more to get my parts. We were leaving to go up into Nova Scotia on 7/29/2005. The owner at the center had known this??? Well I knew about hitch-web.com from previous investigating (the reason i had not ordered soon was I didn;t think the parts would be here early enough) boy was i wrong in part from listening to the guy at the center who told me parts online rarley fit and goodluck waiting for the shipment. I ordered the reciever and electrical on wed the 20th and had it in my Bradford, NH yard by noontime on the 26th. This was all put on and ready to go on Wed. the 27th. Everything fit perfect and we are on our way today (the 29th.) I extended the cut out on the bumper fascia, to include an area directly under the bolts for ease of drilling. I also used RTV on the ends of the bolts, drying over night on Friday, April 11, 2003, to hold a string onto them for pulling them through the frame after fishing the string through the drilled out holes. FYI - the plug was in the lower rear corner just behind the rear air unit (at least in our van). I did have to break a plug and insert both ends of the wiring harness - the other end of it went to power the compressor for the auto-level suspension. Took me about 4 hours overall. It would still take me at least an hour even if I found the connector right away since it was nearly impossible to reach without rigging up coat-hanger hooks etc. Those darn Chevy engineers! :) Just thought this info might be useful for you with future customers.

My local DrawTite dealer agreed to install a hitch for me if I could find one, because he felt that no hitches were currently available for my car. When I went to pick up the car, the dealer told me the hitch would not fit and he could not install it. So I called your office to get return authorization and Tony asked me to contact Dave M. of DaLan to find out why the hitch would not fit and then a return authorization number would gladly be issued. I called Dave who was EXTREMELY helpful. He was shocked that the hitch would not fit and described from memory, exactly what my bumper should look like and how the hitch should be attached. I agreed to get under the car myself and take a look. This past weekend I got under my car and indeed found that two of the weld nuts that were supposed to be in place were not, but the other two were right where they should be. I cleaned out the two nuts that were present per Dave's very simple instructions and the hitch fit up and bolted right into place in a matter of minutes. I contacted Dave again to ask what to do about the two missing weld nuts and he explained that if I was willing to drill the bumper with a regular 1/2 inch drill, he would send me different bolts and nuts to complete the installation free of charge. I'm waiting for my new nuts and bolts to arrive but I wanted to thank you guys for not only having a hitch to fit my "old" car but for also having technical expertise available to help me get the job done right!

Well, "xxxx" is in the GA warehouse that originally shipped the pkg. So your pkg did make it to Panama City, Fl, and for some reason, turned around and went right back to where it came from. Of coarse, there was no notification to Putnam when the hitch returned, as their forwarding warehouse in GA didn't react to the return. This can happen due to dramatic damage in shipping, and perhaps all recognizable labeling was destroyed, and the warehouse didn't know what to do w/ it when it came back, or they just dropped the ball. In either case, Putnam is shipping another out today to you, Next Day Air/Saturday Delivery. So TOMORROW, a hitch is supposed to be delivered to(exact address confirmation). Please be sure that someone is there expecting to receive the hitch, so UPS doesn't hold on to it for any reason. Much apologies from us, Putnam, and UPS .... After searching several local merchants who were unable to help, one in a larger metropolitan area who had one at $279.00, I found you through a web search. In a very few minutes I went through the process and found two that fit my truck and my needs, one at $180 and one at $135, less than half of what the specialty truck store wanted. I ordered it, and presto: in three days it was on my porch. Installed it this morning and it was great. I'd had a '92 Mazda 2WD that I put a Class III on and it was a bear. It also hung 6" under the bumper, giving me about 4" of ground clearance on a good day. This one was a much neater, much easier, much more straightforward installation. The square tube is hidden behind the OEM bumper, and the only thing visible is the receiver itself. Putnam made a great product there. You are to be highly commended for your good value, good service, and helpful website. Thank you for an enjoyable experience!

My local DrawTite dealer agreed to install a hitch for me if I could find one, because he felt that no hitches were currently available for my car. When I went to pick up the car, the dealer told me the hitch would not fit and he could not install it. So I called your office to get return authorization and Tony asked me to contact Dave M. of DaLan to find out why the hitch would not fit and then a return authorization number would gladly be issued. I called Dave who was EXTREMELY helpful. He was shocked that the hitch would not fit and described from memory, exactly what my bumper should look like and how the hitch should be attached. I agreed to get under the car myself and take a look. This past weekend I got under my car and indeed found that two of the weld nuts that were supposed to be in place were not, but the other two were right where they should be. I cleaned out the two nuts that were present per Dave's very simple instructions and the hitch fit up and bolted right into place in a matter of minutes. I contacted Dave again to ask what to do about the two missing weld nuts and he explained that if I was willing to drill the bumper with a regular 1/2 inch drill, he would send me different bolts and nuts to complete the installation free of charge. I'm waiting for my new nuts and bolts to arrive but I wanted to thank you guys for not only having a hitch to fit my "old" car but for also having technical expertise available to help me get the job done right!

From: By M Date: 10/14/1997 Several weeks ago I ordered the Reese 66024 package. The buying experience was excellant, you were most helpful. However, I have several suggestions about the 66024. The design requires that there is nothing mounted on the side or top of the trailer tongue. In my case that meant I had to remove the tongue jack which was welded to the outside of the tongue and replace it with one on the inside. I had to remove the plate welded to the bottom of the tongue that was used to attach the safety chains because it stuck out on each side of the tongue. I had the chains welded to the bottom of the tongue. Finally I had the hitch drilled so I could move it as close as possible to the receiver. Without doing this, my trailer wiring was about 18" too short. So, before recommending this hitch it is important that the buyer understand that the tongue must be "clean" before the hitch can be installed. Once all of this was done everything went together easily. The equalizer works well and the sway control is what I had hoped it would be. Thanks for your help.

From: Guy J Date: 9/9/1997 I got the hitch on Tuesday, fast and easy ordering. Wiring harness adaptor was a snap. Hitch was more dificult to install than it needed to be. It has 'ears' that go outside of the frame rails where the bumper mounts. Those ears were just slightly narrower than the frame rails, I had to use my floor jack and a 2 lb sledge to position the hitch. If the ears were slightly wider than the rails, it would have cut my installation time by 80%. It is almost completely invisible, you can not see it unless you are on your hands and knees and know were to look. I took my jet ski to the lake today ( using the hitch ). It works great, and i am very pleased with it. i don't know were they came up with that hitch but they had it wrapped in plastic and ready to ship before the paint dried. The only problem i ran into was during mounting. The muffler is supposed to be removed for mounting and my muffler bolts were rusted stuck, had to pull down on muffler assembly to squeeze the hitch in above it. Other than that minor problem, the hitch went in easily. I am very happy with the hitch and i will be buying my next hitch from you and I will probably be recommending you to people who ask about my hitch. Thank you very much

I called U-Haul and they only offer first class fixed-hitch which would have cost me $195 installed. I went to Pep Boys, their hitch has removable draw bar, costing me $124.99 plus $44.00 labor installed but I have to wait for 5 days to get the order. I was very frustrated... so I decide to check web by surfing around until I found your site. I checked out to see what you carry. I am so glad that I can see what the hitch looks like and description! I could have got the order by shipping next day but as today UPS are on strike... and I need it ASAP... Hitch-Web told me that I can pick it up at the distributor which is not that far from where I live. I drove there and picked it up. One small bad new is that I cannot install the specific hitch brand that said no drilling needed but it actually need some drill work. So I took it to the shop to have the certified hitch installer install my hitch correctly. Half hour labor which cost me $30 dollars. You see I only spent $140 total comparing to other two stores!!
